Dealing with My Son’s Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Report: Harmful Chimpanzee Research Not Worth the Pain | Wired Science ...Recently, my son was diagnosed with Obsessive OCD. He is obsessive about duplicating regular every day behaviors like washing his hands or changing his clothes. He has to perform these acts at least 20 times a day and it got to the point where it was disrupting his life. We took him to see a specialist and that is when he received the diagnosis. Receiving the diagnosis was actually a relief, because when we got it the doctor also gave us a full treatment plan to follow. The treatment plan involved having my son take some medications, make regular visits to a psychologist, and join a support group.

He has been receiving treatment for about a month now and I must say, things are beginning to improve. He is now able to recognize his compulsive behaviors and he also shows some control over them. With time, I am hoping he will be cured completely of the obsessions that he is experiencing.

Memories from High School English Class

I remember a lot from my high school days, but a lot of the memories are little snips and pretty blurry. It can be hard to remember exactly when certain things happened. I cannot remember if a lot of memories are from ninth or tenth grade because I had the same friends those years. One specific memory that I have is of English class in ninth or tenth grade. We read a poem about a mariner that told about an albatross. This was something we did not really understand when we were in ninth grade, and our teacher had to explain a lot. We also did not know what an albatross was, but we were told it was a large bird. It ended up staying on the ship while the sailors were moving around the ocean. I remember hating that poem and being so angry when I had to go to class and read it for a whole week.

When it comes to daughters, this is even more true. For parents, it is imperative to pay close attention to the things their kids do online.

One of the things that parents may be worried about is when their daughters play dress up games for girls online. With the enormous growth of games, especially those designed for girls, it is important to know the risks. These games have appealed to girls as they allow them to play dress up with celebrities, famous role models, and even animals. They can use all sorts of outfits and fashions to make exactly the sort of characters they want seem to come to life. It is this that has been the catalyst for growth in online girls games. Now the question many parents begin to wonder about is if their girls are going to be safe, especially when they are using information for their profiles or the required networking on many of these sites.
